Pause 4 Paws Board

Jill Goldstein, Executive Director & Founder

Jill Goldstein became the Founder and Executive Director of Pause 4 Paws in 2011. Creating this organization was a continuation of a lifelong commitment to fundraising and volunteerism, modeled on the extensive work of her parents. Jill is an astute networker and advocate in the animal welfare community, guiding the organization through five years of financial growth and giving. She was inspired to found P4P after she adopted her dog and cats from Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue and Second Chance Animal Rescue, and learned about the prevalence of euthanasia, over-population and abuse and neglect of animals.  In addition to her tireless volunteer efforts on behalf of Pause 4 Paws, Jill is the founder and owner of Goldstein Mediation, a divorce mediation firm located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Jill has a B.A. in criminal justice and Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. She also serves on the board of the Mission Animal Hospital, the only non-profit animal hospital in Minnesota.

Amy volunteers her time picking up and delivering donations for the P4P Beneficiary Organizations, making new P4P connections, and fostering dogs and cats for several of our Beneficiary groups. Her house is always full of animals. Amy’s love for her own animals and for each foster animal comes through in every aspect of her work.

David Goldstein, Corporate Fundraising

David is a seasoned fundraiser and has been actively involved with non-profit organizations since he was 21 years old, beginning with one of the world’s largest international service organizations, B-nai Brith. In 1973, David and his wife, Nancy, founded Homeward Bound, Inc. whose mission is to provide innovative, high quality services and supports to children and adults with disabilities and to help them lead fulfilling lives. Never officially retired, David remains actively involved in numerous non-profits and became active in the animal welfare community when he learned of the great need and horrific situations that existed in his own state of Minnesota. He works tirelessly to generate a strong pipeline of corporate sponsors and to generous contributors to support the work of Pause 4 Paws. An animal lover throughout his life, David has been owned by Penny, a bichon, and continues to open his home to his grand-dogs and grand-cats.

Nancy Goldstein, Corporate Fundraising

Nancy has over 40 years of fundraising experience, holding vital positions with Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure and establishing Homeward Bound, Inc. in order to provide an opportunity for her son and other children with special needs to live in their communities.  For over 40 years, Homeward Bound has served hundreds of children and adults living with disabilities and has grown from 1 location to 18 homes around the State of Minnesota.  Bottle feeding a litter of German Shepherds as a child generated Nancy’s commitment to the animal welfare cause.  When her daughter, Jill, founded Pause 4 Paws, Nancy saw the great need to help defenseless animals who have been exposed to abuse, abandonment and torture, and to address what can be extensive medical needs.  Nancy serves as a core member of the board and supports P4P through a wide range of volunteer activities.

Raquel first became interested in animal rescue after volunteering at Pause & Claws in grade school with her best friend Shail. Raquel is a development professional and has worked in the nonprofit sector for almost all of her professional career. She currently works as a Development Officer for the Phillips Eye Institute Foundation, and previously served as an event planner for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota. Having planned fundraising events ranging from small house parties to 5K walks with over 4,500 participants, Raquel brings an expansive knowledge of the event planning, production and execution process. Raquel co-habitates with a 15 year old feline named Sugar, who has been her snuggle buddy since Raquel was 11 years old.
